The beer itself, a deep blonde colour with a thick foamy white head it is a beautiful bit of perfection; in a stylish glass too it's a shame to drink it - but you must. As you sip the strong aroma of banana's and cloves like many Tripel's waft into your nose, a smell I could never tire of. Then the tasting, again large amounts of banana and clove, with green fruit sneaking in there for added sweetness and a good kick of alcohol; the balance is perfect. Another bonus to this beer is that with every order you get a small pot of young Edam cheese which is a great accompaniment, but there are also some dried sausages hanging from the bar with a bit of Belgian mustard is absolutely delicious. The only down side is that the pub rule is that you can only have 3 glasses of this wonderful beer per customer, but at 10.5% it does not take many to make you feel all warm and fuzzy.
When in Bruges you must hunt down - The Best Beer in the World (according to me).
